An educator was taken into custody and sent to jail after allegations of impropriety with a fifth-grade student. Charged under the POCSO Act, the incident has shaken the Chhandil sub-division in the district of Saraikela, Jharkhand.

The SDPO of Chhandil, Sunil Kumar Rajbar, reported that three days prior, a case had surfaced involving the teacher's misconduct with the student. The girl's family had filed a written complaint at the Chauka police station.

After thorough investigation, the police arrested the suspect, Bhoothnath Mahato, and further intensified their search as the teacher had initially fled the scene. The arrest was made in Urmal village following a tip-off about the teacher's whereabouts.

Allegedly, the teacher's continual harassment and indecent acts led the fifth-grade student to cease attending school. She confided in her parents, who then informed the village head of the disturbing events, prompting a written complaint to be filed with the local police.

The village headman and local community members collectively approached the Chauka police station with the written complaint. Upon learning about the case, the accused teacher immediately went into hiding.
