A heartbreaking incident has surfaced in Tamil Nadu's Cuddalore involving the assault on an elderly woman. An 80-year-old woman on her regular evening walk was allegedly abducted near Panruti and suffered a horrific gang rape.
The woman, who resides with her son, was stopped by a group as she ventured out for her usual walk on a Monday evening. They forcibly took her to a secluded area, silenced her, violated her, and robbed her of approximately 8 grams of gold jewelry.
Villagers found the woman unconscious and rushed her to the district government hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. Panruti police have launched an investigation into the incident.
It's worth mentioning that a similar incident occurred last November in Hyderabad. There, three male individuals deceived an elderly woman under the pretense of offering her work but instead subjected her to sexual violence. They coerced her into an auto-rickshaw and took her to a room under false pretenses where they raped her. The accused also physically assaulted the woman. Police reports revealed that the attackers pretended to hire her for laundry and domestic work to lure her into their trap.
