After two years, the war between Russia and Ukraine continues without an end in sight. Neither Russia nor Ukraine is showing any signs of backing down from this devastating conflict that began on 24 February 2022. But amidst the destruction, startling revelations surface. People from Nepal and India, among other countries, are fighting for Russia, some tempted by money while others allegedly tricked and coerced into the battlefield.

Following the death of Mohammad Afsan in Russia, questions are being raised on whether a syndicate is operating within India, luring Indian nationals to enlist in the Russian military, only to be sent to the front lines against the Ukrainian forces. This claim has been made by Afsan's brother Imran, a businessman based in Hyderabad.

Who was Afsan in contact with?

Imran's startling claim includes the names of alleged agents Ramesh, Nazil, Moin, and Khushpreet, who he holds responsible for the Indian casualties in the Russia-Ukraine war. 'Afsan went to Russia through 'Baba Vlog' on 9 November. Ever since his departure, I was in touch with these individuals. When I inquired about Afsan's well-being, they informed me that he had been shot, was injured and terrified,' said Imran, detailing that Ramesh and Nazil are based in Chennai while Khushpreet holds a Russian passport and is originally from Punjab.

The shocking news of death leaves the brother distraught

Upon hearing of the shooting, a terrified Imran reached out to MP Asaduddin Owaisi and from there contacted the Indian Embassy's emergency number in hopes of connecting with his brother. After being put on hold, embassy officials informed him that Afsan had passed away. In a state of shock, Imran conveyed the news to Owaisi, who received the same confirmation.

Agents still concealing the truth?

Imran went on to say, 'Upon learning of Afsan's death, I left Mr. Owaisi's residence for my home. I called the embassy again to learn how my brother died. They could only tell me they had received a call from the Russian army, with no further information. After this conversation, I contacted the agents Khushpreet and Ramesh. Both are still claiming it could be false news and assert they plan to visit the location where Afsan was stationed.'

The role of this YouTuber comes into question

In fact, the 'Baba Vlog' that Imran mentioned is a YouTuber who guides people on how to work in different countries and make good money. With over 3 lakh subscribers, the channel has uploaded 148 videos to date. A month ago, Baba Vlog posted a video about visiting New Zealand. They also use social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram for promotion.

Website lists Dubai office address

Baba Vlog has also established a website under the same name, which lists an office address in Dubai. The site provides contact numbers for Baba Sufiyan and Pooja, offering job-related information. There's a section for latest jobs, which appears to be unupdated for the past two years. The allegations by Afsan's brother after his death in the Russia-Ukraine war have cast suspicion over Baba Vlog's role.
