Police have neutralized Sajid, the perpetrator of the murder of two children in Badaun, UP, in an encounter. The surviving child narrated that at the time of the incident, two suspects, Sajid and Javed, were present. He explained that Sajid first asked his elder brother for tea and then requested water from the younger one.
Talking to Aaj Tak, the child said that when I went upstairs, Sajid grabbed my mouth and then stabbed me, causing a wound. Then I pushed him and ran down, locking us outside with my mother.
The witness to the incident, who is also the deceased's brother, reported that Sajid and Javed were both present at the time of the crime. Sajid had requested tea from my elder brother and water from the younger. When the older brother brought tea, he killed him, and then when the younger came with water, he was also killed. My younger brother had screamed, that’s when I went upstairs.
The child continued, explaining that when he went upstairs, Sajid had already killed both brothers and was locking the gate. Upon seeing me, he attempted to kill me as well. I managed to push him and escape.
Mother of the children was demanded five thousand rupees
The incident took place in Baba Colony within the Civil Lines police station area of Badaun, where on Tuesday evening, a man named Sajid visited the home opposite his shop belonging to Vinod Singh. At that time, he demanded five thousand rupees from Vinod's wife. They revealed that Sajid requested money for his wife's delivery, which they gave. Afterward, he said he was feeling unwell and went upstairs to where the children Ayush and Yuvraj were.

Rakesh Kumar Singh, IG of Bareilly Zone, stated that Sajid aka Javed, son of Babu, fled the crime scene covered in blood after the brutal murder of two children. When our team was informed and pursued him, he was spotted in the jungles of Shekhupur. There, the SOG and local police gave chase, and during an exchange of fire when he shot at police, Sajid was injured and subsequently died.

According to the IG, Sajid was the only suspect. People reported seeing a blood-soaked man fleeing, and he was pursued. He mentioned that the investigation is deepening to determine whether the incident was a matter of financial transaction or stemmed from another grudge. He added that the family is currently grieving, so they are not being questioned extensively.

According to the officer, the accused went to the house, first met the children's grandmother, and then went to the second floor and attacked the three children, resulting in the death of two and seriously injuring one. The child is now out of danger. During the encounter, Gaurav Bishnoi, the in-charge of the Civil Lines station, was also shot in the leg. He is currently being treated at the district hospital.
