Despite exit polls forecasting a lead for the NDA once again, AAP candidate Somanath Bharti from the New Delhi parliamentary seat is confident of a different outcome. He has boldly claimed that he will shave his head if Narendra Modi is re-elected Prime Minister for the third time, emphasizing that all exit poll results will be contradicted on June 4th.
On social media platform X, Bharti posted, "I will shave my head if Mr. Modi becomes Prime Minister for the third time. Mark my words!"
He further stated that the India alliance will win all seven seats in Delhi. Bharti proclaimed, "Modi ji's fear does not allow exit polls to show them losing. Hence, we all must await the forthcoming results on June 4th. The populace has voted against BJP overwhelmingly."
It is to be noted that Somanath Bharti is contesting the New Delhi seat. His competition is BJP candidate Bansuri Swaraj, daughter of the late former Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj. The BJP has introduced her to electoral politics for the first time.
This election season, the Aam Aadmi Party contested four seats in Delhi, while the Congress fielded candidates in three. The AAP ran in the East Delhi, New Delhi, West Delhi, and South Delhi seats, whereas Congress contested from Chandni Chowk, Northwest Delhi, and Northeast Delhi.
