After almost two years since the murder of the famed Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, the family home resonates once again with joy as Charan Kaur and Balkaur Singh welcome a new child. Balkaur Singh himself broke the news. At 58, Charan Kaur has thrust IVF regulations into the spotlight by giving birth using this technique. Consequently, the central health ministry requests a thorough report from the Punjab government on Charan Kaur's IVF treatment.
As per the existing rules in India regarding IVF, only women aged between 21-50 years are eligible for this reproductive technology. However, Charan Kaur's treatment at 58 years of age has challenged this norm. The ministry, citing her age, states that the legally sanctioned age for women undergoing Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) services spans from 21 to 50 years.

Birth of a Miracle on March 17th
On March 17th, a bundle of joy arrived in the home of Balkaur Singh and his wife Charan Kaur, almost two years after Moosewala's tragic demise. The couple chose IVF to fulfill their dream. Balkaur Singh took to social media to announce the arrival of the little one, sharing a heartfelt photo, and expressing gratitude for the well-wishers' blessings, stating: "Blessed by Sidhu's admirers, the Almighty has added Shubhdeep's (Sidhu) little brother into our fold. With Waheguru's grace, the family is healthy and we are thankful for the immense love from all supporters."
Central Government Asks Punjab for Clarification
On March 14th, the Ministry of Home Affairs sent a letter to the Punjab government referencing a media report concerning Charan Kaur's IVF at 58. Under the provisions of the Assisted Reproductive Technology (Regulation) Act, 2021, section 21 (g) (i), the stipulated age for a woman undergoing ART services is between 21-50 years. Accordingly, a request has been made for a thorough investigation into the clinic's adherence to the ART (Regulation) Act of 2021.
Moosewala's Father Cries Foul Against Punjab Government
It is worth noting that the father of Siddhu Moosewala had previously leveled serious accusations against the Punjab government. In a video statement released on social media, Balkaur Singh voiced his turmoil, suggesting that the administration's persistent intrusion regarding the baby's documents was distressing, urging empathy from the CM and asking for treatment to be completed unhindered. He asserted compliance with the law and even welcomed investigation, confident of his innocence despite any legal scrutiny.
