On the 'Panchayat Aaj Tak-Bihar' stage, Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a scathing attack on the opposition. He questioned, 'Should any state's Chief Minister, Minister, or Prime Minister govern from behind bars?' Amit Shah asserted that the 130th Constitutional Amendment applies equally to all elected representatives, not just the opposition. He stated, 'Those leaders who are habituated to corruption are the ones living in fear.'

'Those habituated to corruption are afraid'

Responding to opposition allegations that the 130th Constitutional Amendment targets them, Amit Shah said, 'The opposition is spreading misinformation. The 130th Amendment applies to the BJP as well, including our Chief Ministers and Prime Minister. It is not meant for the opposition alone but for all elected officials. However, we have no fear as we're not involved in wrongdoing. The opposition is fearful because they are used to corrupt practices.'

'Congress couldn't file even one PIL'

Addressing the misuse of agencies as alleged by the opposition, Amit Shah stated, 'Even if agencies do not file a case against us, they could still take a PIL to court. Under their regime, we filed countless PILs leading to court orders and CBI registrations. Let Congress tell us if they were able to file even one PIL. In PM Modi's regime, neither corruption nor allegations of corruption have surfaced. Congress committed scams worth 12 lakh crores.'

'Is it possible to govern from jail?'

When asked if the amendment was brought due to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's case, Amit Shah replied, 'No, it was introduced after Kejriwal's bail.' He further explained, 'At the time of Constitution drafting, the makers did not anticipate anyone being shameless enough to govern from jail. Such incidents have occurred in various parts of the country, including Tamil Nadu and Delhi. And all were associated with the INDI Alliance.'

Amit Shah elaborated, 'According to the law we have introduced, if allegations are made against anyone and they are jailed, they have 30 days to secure bail. If bail is obtained within 30 days, nothing will happen. Even if granted later, they can be sworn in as CM again. But the question is, should Chief Ministers, Ministers, or Prime Ministers govern from jail? What kind of democracy are we imagining here?'
