An unusual case has emerged from Gairatganj in Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh, where two prominent BJP leaders feigned illness to avoid jail for an old assault case on a doctor. However, their act collapsed under the judiciary's scrutiny.
On June 15, during duty hours at Gairatganj Civil Hospital, Nagar Parishad Chairman Jinesh Jain and BJP Mandal President Sanjay Jain allegedly assaulted Dr. Anist Lal. An FIR was lodged by the BMO following the incident.
Local residents alleged that political pressure delayed the action. Months later, as soon as the Gairatganj court issued jail warrants for both leaders, they allegedly 'fainted' and got themselves admitted to Raisen District Hospital.
The court demanded the hospital explain the grounds for their admission. Following legal pressure, the district hospital promptly discharged the leaders. Duty doctor Akash Chaturvedi stated that both were recovering well and were out of danger.
After their discharge from the district hospital, Gairatganj police arrested the leaders and transferred them to Begumganj Jail.

Legal experts indicate that if the court doesn't grant them bail by Thursday, the leaders might have to celebrate the Diwali festival behind bars due to holidays at the High Court.
