In the Gaya district of Bihar, an inspiring and unique event has unfolded. Retired Air Force officer, Mohan Lal, not only funded the construction of a crematorium in his village with his own resources but also conducted a mock funeral procession of himself for its promotion. This remarkable event took place in Konchi village, Guraru block of Gaya district, where 74-year-old Mohan Lal invested around 600,000 rupees to build the crematorium.

According to the villagers, performing cremations during the rainy season was extremely challenging, as the river overflowed, leaving no space. To address this issue, Mohan Lal personally financed the construction of a permanent crematorium in the village to ensure no one faced difficulties during cremations.

The crematorium is equipped with a shed for bodies, a shaded platform for visiting villagers, and a handpump for drinking water. To inaugurate and promote this social contribution, Mohan Lal organized a ceremonial procession with grand music, leaving the entire village astonished. Upon reaching the crematorium, he symbolically cremated an effigy.
