Tension escalated in Rohtak district, Haryana on Tuesday following the suicide of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Kumar. The grieving family refused to hand over the body to the police and instead took their case to their native village, Ladhaut.
The family accuses Amneet Puran Kumar, wife of the late IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar, of being complicit in Sandeep Kumar's death. They vow to withhold the cremation until her arrest.

Sandeep’s uncle's son recounted that Sandeep last came home two days ago, expressing the mounting pressure linked to the Puran Kumar issue. The family learned of the incident via television. At present, Sandeep's wife and mother are in Rohtak, with the family's ultimate decision on post-mortem and cremation pending further discussions.
