The case of Raju, a man who vanished 30 years ago from Shaheed Nagar in Ghaziabad's Sahibabad area, has taken an astonishing turn as he returns home. Hearing his story, the Ghaziabad police are bewildered, entangled in the investigation. Raju informed Kohda police station that he was a resident of Ghaziabad and was kidnapped by some people on his way back from school 30 years ago. The police believed his story and handed him over to a retired electrical employee, Tularam's family. However, it has now come to light that he pulled such a stunt in Dehradun as well.

Reports reached the Ghaziabad police indicating that Raju had similarly posed as Monu, the lost son of a family in Dehradun. In July, he approached the Dehradun police and narrated the same abduction story, claiming he was from Dehradun. As a child, he was kidnapped and taken to Rajasthan, held as a bonded laborer, tasked with herding sheep and goats. Believing his tale, an elderly woman, Asha Devi, from Patel Nagar, identified him as her long-lost son and took him into her home.

Raju, after spending months in Dehradun, arrives in Delhi

Asha Devi's husband, Kapildev Sharma, shared that Masonu often quarreled with their daughter's children after reclaiming his place at home, prompting them to leave. Despite the suspicions over his claims, he stayed due to his wife's insistence. So, he lived with the Sharma family for months before leaving in October under the pretext of working in Delhi, where he again spun his yarn to the Ghaziabad police, posing as Raju and living with Tularam.

An emotional tale of abduction and release

Raju narrated an intensely emotional story about his kidnapping and eventual release. He recounted being kept in Jaisalmer, herding goats by day, chained at night. A truck driver, who noticed his shackles while fetching goats, asked for an explanation, and Raju unveiled his abduction story. In a twist of fate, the driver brought him to Delhi, disguising him among the goats. At Kohda police station, police unearthed records of a 30-year-old missing case, and connected the dots to Tularam's missing son. However, a new twist has now emerged in his tale.
