The political landscape is changing as the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party form a coalition, attracting attention from other parties. Mohammed Adeeb, a former Rajya Sabha member under the SP-Congress joint quota, has now aligned himself with Shivpal Yadav's Progressive Socialist Party, accompanied by several Muslim leaders. Known for championing Muslim causes, Adeeb's move is noteworthy.

Alongside Adeeb, influential Muslim intellectuals, social activists, and various Muslim scholars have embraced membership in the Progressive Socialist Party. Prominent figures from the well-known Dargah Khichhocha Sharif in Bahraich, including Syed Maqsood Ashraf and Supreme Court lawyer Asgar Khan, were also present at the embracement ceremony.

Before his role in the Rajya Sabha, Mohammed Adeeb served as the former president of the Aligarh Muslim University Student Union. Speculation suggests he might contest in elections from any Muslim-majority seat in Western UP under the Progressive Socialist Party banner.

SP Spokesperson Amik Jamai expressed that Adeeb’s association with Shivpal doesn’t affect the Samajwadi Party, as he wasn’t their active member. Jamai emphasized the democratic freedom individuals have in choosing their political affiliations.

Highlighting ongoing efforts, Amik Jamai mentioned that the SP-BSP alliance is committed to protecting the constitution. The unity is convincing people across various communities, including Muslims, Dalits, backward classes, farmers, youth, and those with secular ideologies. They've resolved to challenge the BJP's rule, indicating that such political moves won’t sway people's opinions anymore.
