The four doctors accused in the Delhi blast case will no longer be able to practice medicine. The National Medical Commission has officially removed their names from its registry. On Friday, following the Delhi explosion and under proceedings of the UAPA, Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed, Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather, Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, and Dr. Shaheen Saeed have been delisted by the National Medical Commission.
Consequently, until further notice, these doctors cannot practice or treat patients. Following their conviction in court regarding the Delhi blast, they will never be able to return to this profession publicly.
On November 10, 2,900 kilograms of explosives were seized, and later that day, a powerful car explosion occurred near the Red Fort. These incidents led to the arrest of these doctors among a total of 8 individuals, with several others detained. To date, the blast has resulted in 13 casualties.
The End of a Medical Career
In a public notice issued on Friday, the National Medical Commission listed the FIR charges against these doctors, stating, "Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed, Dr. Adil Ahmed Rather, and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, registered in the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council, were found involved in this case based on evidence gathered by investigating agencies."
The commission stated that such involvement or conduct is prima facie not in line with the "ethics, integrity, and standards of public trust expected from members of the medical profession." This case falls under the provisions of the Indian Medical Association (Professional Conduct, Etiquette, and Ethics) Regulations, 2002.

The notice stated that the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council has ordered the cancellation of registration for Dr. Ahmed, Dr. Rather, Dr. Shakeel, and Dr. Saeed, directing that their names be immediately removed from the list of medical practitioners.
The NMC notice declared, "Following this removal, these doctors are not entitled to practice medicine or hold any position as a physician until further orders."
The notice further instructed, "In light of the notifications regarding the cancellation of registration issued by the Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council for the aforementioned doctors, dated November 13, their names should be immediately removed from the Indian Medical Register/National Medical Register."
A Stain on the Medical Profession
On the morning of November 10, it was declared by police that 360 kilograms of ammonium nitrate was seized from a rented house by Dr. Muzammil at Al Falah University in Faridabad. The terrorist doctor was employed at Al Falah and hails from Pulwama district in South Kashmir. Soon after, Jammu and Kashmir police revealed that 2,900 kilograms of explosives were found in and around the university, unearthing a 'white collar terror module.' He was apprehended.
Police are also searching for Dr. Muzaffar from Al Falah University. Based on interrogations of other detainees, resident Muzaffar of Qazigund came under the radar. He fled India in August and is believed to be in Afghanistan. Police have approached Interpol for a Red Corner Notice against him.
A female doctor from Lucknow, Dr. Shaheen, was aware of the conspiracy brewed by the three doctors. Investigators linked to the blast have disclosed she had full knowledge of the plot being orchestrated before the Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on December 6.
Dr. Muzaffar's brother, Dr. Adil Rather, was arrested from Saharanpur on November 7. An AK-56 rifle and other ammunition were confiscated from his locker at Anantnag hospital.
