Sajib Wazed, the son of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh, says that this was his mother's final term. Recently, she served as the country's Prime Minister for the fifth time and the fourth consecutive term. He stated that law and order in Bangladesh has collapsed, and members of the Awami League are being killed. He attributed this unrest to Jamaat and BNP, suggesting that Bangladesh is on the verge of becoming like Afghanistan.
In an interview with India Today, Wazed said, "I spoke to her (my mother, Sheikh Hasina) yesterday. My phone has been ringing continuously, so I haven't had the chance to call her back since then. She’s doing fine but feels disheartened. She's dismayed that despite all she has done for Bangladesh, people have turned against her."

Transforming a Failing Nation Into a Success Story
Sajib Wazed proudly spoke of his mother's tenure, stating, "She transformed a poor, failing, and corrupt country into a successful nation. She has improved people's lives. We have worked immensely hard to develop our country. She (my mother) told me that she was tired of politics. This was her last term. Besides, she is now 77 years old and has retired."
So far, Sheikh Hasina has not sought asylum, and her son insists that reports of her seeking asylum are false. He clarified that Hasina has not requested asylum from any country and has made no such decision. This is solely her decision to make. She may travel to different countries to visit her grandchildren. Our entire family lives abroad, still making the asylum rumors groundless.
The Government Fulfilled Protesters' Demands
Regarding the deteriorating situation in Bangladesh, Sajib Wazed stated, "No one anticipated this. Nobody thought that students and the radicals behind them would become so violent. We fulfilled all of the protesters' demands, so we were baffled and did not expect this. Even my mother invited them for dialogue, but we never expected them to demand the government's resignation and launch a full-blown attack."

Sajib Wazed said, "This was not a peaceful protest. Armed attacks were made on police stations. Police officers were killed, and you’ve seen the violence they wrought in Bangladesh, with violence continuing to escalate. After mobs attacked, the police found themselves with no control over law and order.
Burning of My Grandfather's House
Sajib Wazed stated, "The police have resigned. They’re no longer doing their jobs. All the homes of our ministers have been burned down. The residence of our nation's father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, which is now a museum where my entire family was killed in the 1975 coup, has been set on fire. Temples are being torched. Our parliament members are being murdered. Minorities are being attacked and killed.
