Planning to head home or enjoy a weekend outing? Think again, as many parts of Delhi-Noida are grappling with severe traffic jams. A significant bottleneck has formed at Kalindi Kunj on the Delhi-Noida border, a common scene for the past few days, but this evening is particularly challenging for commuters stuck in traffic.
Vehicles entering from Delhi to Noida are experiencing immense congestion, with traffic moving at a snail's pace between Sarita Vihar and Kalindi Kunj. Cars are barely moving.
The national capital and the NCR are amidst an ongoing spell of heavy monsoon rains, leading to waterlogging in some areas and damaging roads in others, making traffic jams a frequent occurrence. Friday's rain in Delhi brought not relief, but difficulties, as water inundated various parts of South Delhi, troubling both locals and office-goers. Even light rain turned roads into ponds, trapping vehicles and causing jams. Locals pointed to the failure of proper drain cleaning as the main cause of this mess.
According to Flightradar24, operations at Delhi Airport were affected, with 209 flights delayed and 43 incoming flights arriving late by 2 PM.
