Homes of Doctors Searched in Lucknow, Saharanpur After Delhi Blast

The recent car blast near Delhi's Red Fort that claimed 10 lives has put security agencies in Uttar Pradesh on high alert. Raids were conducted in Lucknow, Saharanpur, and Lakhimpur Kheri on Tuesday. Investigation teams are questioning suspects at their residences and hospitals.

Raid at Doctor's Residence in Lucknow

In Lucknow, a joint team comprising ATS, local police, and central agencies searched the home of Dr. Shaheen Shahid. Shaheen has already been apprehended in connection with the Delhi blast case. The team collected documents and questioned family members. Her father expressed his ignorance about any such connections of his daughter.

Dr. Adil Ahmed Arrested in Saharanpur

Dr. Adil Ahmed, originally from Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir, was arrested in Saharanpur on November 7. He had been employed at a private hospital here for the past six months and reportedly rented a house in the city. It was noted that visitors would meet him late at night. Police are currently investigating his contacts.

Mohammad Suhail Under Scrutiny in Lakhimpur Kheri

Gujarat ATS has taken Mohammad Suhail into custody in Lakhimpur Kheri. His family asserts his innocence, claiming he was studying at a madrasa for the last three years. Suhail's mother insists her son is simple-minded and has been wrongly implicated.

Heightened Security State-Wide

Post-blast, security has been ramped up in all major districts across Uttar Pradesh. Shopping malls, railway stations, bus stands, and markets are under thorough checks. Bomb disposal units and dog squads have been deployed. Police officials confirm round-the-clock surveillance will continue in all districts.
