Spiritual teacher Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is rapidly recovering from brain surgery. Isha Foundation stated on Wednesday that, despite serious health challenges, Sadhguru honored his promise to participate in the India Today Conclave 2024. According to the foundation, Sadhguru underwent an MRI scan on March 15, which revealed extensive bleeding in his brain.
Nonetheless, he declined to cancel his previously scheduled engagements, including a session at the India Today Conclave, even though he had not fully recuperated. The foundation shared that he attended the conclave with the aid of pain relief medication, stating, 'Sadhguru had been suffering from severe headaches for the past four weeks... On the afternoon of March 14, 2024, when he arrived in Delhi, the headache became extremely severe. At 4:30 PM the same day, an urgent MRI was conducted, showing substantial brain hemorrhage.'
Following his immediate brain surgery, Isha Foundation reported that he is now recuperating quickly. While participating in the India Today Conclave on March 16, Sadhguru discussed various topics, including the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), expressing vocal support. He welcomed the enforcement of this law, stating it should have happened much earlier. Sadhguru emphasized that CAA does not discriminate against anyone in India on religious grounds, but rather provides protection to people who have suffered religious persecution in certain neighboring countries.
At the India Today Conclave, Sadhguru discussed CAA
Sadhguru spoke about refugees suffering religious persecution in Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan, saying, 'In the last 75 years, they have endured the worst. Many came over 30-40 years ago, but still lived as refugees in this country. Shouldn't we feel ashamed? Because of historic blunders during the country's partition, many people ended up on the wrong side. They then tried to move to the right country, arriving here 30-40 years ago – but without citizenship. They've been deprived of rights in our nation, which is shameful. There's no controversy over CAA; the real issue is the delay in its implementation, which is a disgrace for us.'
Sadhguru advocates for One Nation One Election at the conclave
Regarding One Nation One Election, Sadhguru said, 'In my view, One Nation One Election is a significant step towards Ram Rajya. Some argue that BJP favors it because they're winning, but victory isn't certain until achieved. Assuming BJP supports it for their wins is simply self-deception. Of course, we can afford to have an election once every five years.'
