The Chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Mohan Bhagwat, has shared his views on various issues, including trade, Hindutva, and the organization's ideology. Bhagwat emphasized that while international trade is necessary, it should not be conducted under pressure. He stressed the importance of indigenous products, urging that the goods made in India should be the ones used.
Bhagwat remarked, "International trade can continue, but it must be free from coercion. If we can drink homemade lemonade, why opt for a cold drink? We should promote and consume products made in our country."
He simplified the ideology of Hindutva to 'truth and love,' noting that the world operates on unity, not just on deals or contracts. The life mission of a Hindu nation is the welfare of the world.
Mohan Bhagwat acknowledged that no other voluntary organization has faced as much staunch opposition as the RSS. When the RSS was founded in 1925, Dr. Hedgewar spoke of organizing the entire Hindu society.
He said, "What is the mission of a Hindu nation? Our India aims for global welfare. In the pursuit of development, the world has ceased to look within. If we introspect, we find the ever-lasting source of happiness that never exhausts. Achieving this is humanity's greatest goal, which can lead to universal contentment and harmony, ending global conflicts, fostering peace and happiness worldwide."
Furthermore, he stated, "The Hindu society must remain accountable to the nation. An old RSS propagator, Dada Rao Parmarth, described RSS as the 'development of the Hindu nation's life mission.'"
Bhagwat concluded, "Why does the RSS, even after 100 years, still envision new horizons? If I were to answer in one sentence, it is because at the end of our daily prayer, we as volunteers chant, 'Victory to Mother India.'"
