RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat addressed a gathering on Tuesday, celebrating the organization’s 100-year journey. During his speech, Mohan Bhagwat illuminated the role of RSS in the freedom movement and elucidated the meanings of the 'Hindu Nation' and 'World Teacher'. He also shared the future plans of the RSS, emphasizing that it is not just about running the organization but serving a significant purpose — ensuring our nation receives its due recognition.
Mohan Bhagwat articulated that India deserves a leading role on the world stage. As global connections grow closer, he asserted that humanity is one despite its beautiful diversity, each hue contributing to the world's beauty.
Unveiling the Future Plans of RSS
Quoting Swami Vivekananda, Bhagwat highlighted every nation's unique mission and India's significant contributions to the world. The RSS, he noted, aims to assist India's journey towards greatness not for self-glory but to inject new vitality into global life, which is essential. He declared that the fruition of the RSS's mission is intertwined with India's emergence as a World Teacher, and its time is now.
Bhagwat stated that social transformation occurs through collective efforts. While political leaders, policies, parties, ideologies, and organizations play assistive roles, social quality improvement is essential for achieving greatness. He noted that while many issues might be resolved, they may re-emerge unless fundamental flaws are addressed — a responsibility that falls on someone’s shoulders.
Recalling the Vande Mataram Movement
Mohan Bhagwat delved into RSS's participation in the freedom movement, describing RSS founder Doctor Hedgewar as a passionate patriot from an early age, committed to living and dying for the nation. He recounted Doctor Hedgewar’s active involvement in the Vande Mataram movement, where Nagpur schools greeted inspectors with 'Vande Mataram'.
When faced with demands for an apology, two brave students from Nagpur staunchly refused, arguing it was their right to say 'Vande Mataram', a sentiment they wouldn’t abandon. Consequently, they left the schools but continued their education at a national school.
Defining the Hindu Nation Concept
In his address, Mohan Bhagwat clarified the 'Hindu Nation' does not pertain to power, sects, languages, or division among people; it assures equal justice for all. He emphasized that mentioning 'Hindu' doesn’t exclude anyone nor opposes any group. The RSS aims for unity, not conflict. Just as exercise fortifies an individual, collective strength has no hostile intention.
Bhagwat further expressed that societal organization is natural and vital for success. He dismissed past notions rejecting the 'Hindu Nation' and asserted RSS's independence and self-reliance, crafted by self-made volunteers who drive its activities and continue to strengthen the movement.
