In light of allegations made by Rohit Pawar, a legislator from Sharad Pawar's NCP faction, a clarification has emerged from Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. Close sources to the minister have outrightly denied Rohit Pawar's accusations, asserting that neither the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) nor the minister has any tie with VSR Company, involved in the crash that tragically ended Ajit Pawar's life.
On Wednesday, Rohit Pawar alleged in a Mumbai press conference that Minister Naidu was attempting to shield VSR Company, linked to the January 28 Baramati Learjet crash. Pawar claimed that the minister and senior TDP leaders have close ties with the company owners and called for the minister's resignation.
The controversy erupted following the January 28 plane crash in Baramati, Pune, which claimed the lives of Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and five others. The incident sparked numerous political speculations. Rohit Pawar suggested political motives might underpin this tragedy, although no official confirmation substantiates this claim.
Minister Naidu's close sources have dismissed these allegations. In conversation with Aaj Tak, sources close to the Civil Aviation Minister and top ministry officials deemed these claims as unfounded. They stressed that neither the TDP nor Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has any connection with VSR Company. The ministry is committed to conducting a transparent and impartial inquiry into the accident. Every necessary step has been taken, leaving no room for shielding anyone involved.
