Bihar's political landscape is set for a new entrant from Lalu Yadav's family. Talks of Dr. Rohini Acharya's political debut have been around, and it now looks to be taking shape. Rohini is prepping to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Bihar's Saran constituency.
Rohini announced the commencement of her public outreach campaign starting April 2nd. Before launching her campaign, Rohini, along with her father Lalu Yadav, mother Rabri Devi, and sister Misa Bharti, visited the Hariharnath Temple and performed rituals with deep devotion. Rohini has roared into Saran with full gusto.
Professionally a doctor, Rohini married software engineer Samaresh Singh from the United States in 2002. She currently resides in Singapore.
In an exclusive conversation with

, she said, 'Even from Singapore we had everyone's attention, and now, stepping onto Saran's soil, I have the full support of its people.' Rohini Acharya asserted that the populace of Saran is ready for change this year. 'Mothers, sisters, and the elderly are all prepared,' she said.
Rohini, who is gearing up to enter the election battleground, also expressed her confidence during her visit to the Hariharnath Temple.
It's notable that Lalu Yadav first won the Saran (formerly known as Chhapra) seat in 1977 and has been its MP four times. He was last elected from this seat in 2009. Since 2014, the BJP has held this seat.
Incumbent BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy is contesting again, and the RJD has fielded Lalu's daughter Rohini against him. After Misa Bharti, Rohini is the second daughter of Lalu Yadav to step into politics. When Lalu's health deteriorated, and doctors recommended a kidney transplant, it was Rohini who donated hers. The transplant took place in Singapore, where Lalu stayed at Rohini's residence. Rohini Yadav also stays active in politics through her social media presence.
