Daring Daylight Robbery of Retired Teacher Unveiled in Saharsa

Recently, in Bihar's Saharsa, a retired female teacher became the victim of a 100,000 rupee robbery. The police have cracked the case, arresting two suspects found with 75,000 rupees of the stolen amount. The culprits are identified as active members of the notorious Kodha gang in Katihar and have several cases registered against them in the police stations of Lakhisarai, Gaya, and Bhagalpur. The motorcycle used in the robbery has also been recovered by the police.

On February 27, two bike-borne assailants had robbed the retired teacher of 100,000 rupees as she was returning home from the bank. Saharsa's SP Himanshu disclosed the woman's ordeal near Sarahi Mod, where the thieves snatched her purse and fled. A formal complaint was lodged at the Sadar Police Station by the victim.

SP Himanshu explained that a special investigative team was formed considering the seriousness of the crime occurring in the city. CCTV footage was scrutinized, leading to the discovery that Kodha's gang was behind the crime.

Three teams were dispatched across different districts, culminating in the arrest of two perpetrators from Gogri Jamalpur in Khagaria district. Alongside the recovered 75,000 rupees, the police also seized a mobile phone and the motorcycle used in the robbery.

An additional suspect remains at large. The arrested accused, Vikas Kumar Yadav, hails from Kodha Thana district in Katihar and has 10 criminal charges against him, while the identity of the second arrested, known as Shiva Yadav, is being further investigated for his criminal history.
