Under Which Section Was the FIR Registered?

The FIR against Vijay Shah was filed under three serious sections of the Indian Penal Code – sections 152, 196(1)(b), and 197(1)(c), prompting him to challenge the High Court's order in the Supreme Court.

In a public gathering, Vijay Shah made a contentious remark about Colonel Sophia Qureshi, which deepened the controversy.

Amid the growing dispute, Vijay Shah apologized during an interaction with Aaj Tak, stating, “Even in my dreams, I wouldn’t think ill of Colonel Sophia. Nor can I think of dishonoring the army. Sister Sophia has served the nation beyond caste and religion, bravely facing terrorists, and I salute her. My family background is also linked to the army. My statement was made considering the pain of sisters whose lives were destroyed by terrorists. If something inappropriate was said in the heat of the moment, I apologize for it.”
