In Jammu and Kashmir's Tral, reports indicate an encounter between security forces and militants. Three militants have been neutralized during the operation, with intelligence suggesting the presence of two to three Jaish-e-Mohammed operatives in the area.
The neutralized militants are residents of Tral, identified as Asif Ahmed Sheikh, Amir Nazir Wani, and Yawar Ahmed Bhatt.

Following this success, the Indian Army reported that acting on intelligence, a search operation was launched on May 15 in Tral's Nadir village. The Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and CRPF encircled the area. Upon detecting suspicious activity, they engaged the militants. The operation is ongoing.
This encounter is currently active in Nadir village, Tral. In Pulwama, this marks the second encounter within 48 hours. Previously on Tuesday, three militants were neutralized in Shopian.

In a special operation in Shopian on Tuesday, three militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba were neutralized. The security forces cordoned off Jinpathir Kellar area, conducting Operation Kellar.
Among those killed was Shahid Kutta, a Shopian local who joined Lashkar on March 8, 2023. He was involved in the murder of a BJP Sarpanch in Hirpora, Shopian on May 18, 2024. Another militant, Adnan Shafi Dar from Wanduna Melhora, Shopian, joined Lashkar on October 18, 2024 and was involved in the killing of a non-local laborer in Shopian on October 18, 2024.
