The RCB management reportedly approached Bengaluru City Police seeking permission for a victory parade at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium before the IPL 2025 final on June 3. Sources indicate that Royal Challengers Bangalore made the announcement on platform X even before receiving police approval. This post went viral, garnering over a million views in a few hours.
As sources report, the social media announcement led to a swelling crowd outside the stadium, eventually resulting in chaos that claimed 11 lives and injured over 30 people. Bengaluru Police allegedly notified RCB that no permission had been granted for the parade. Sources revealed that the police advised RCB to postpone it and not hold the parade on June 4. However, on June 4, RCB's official handle tweeted the parade's time and location without consulting the police.

According to sources, the situation worsened following RCB's announcement of free entry passes. Subsequently, the police instructed the team to at least regulate the entry through registration. Sources stated that the police recommended holding the event on Sunday to minimize traffic disruption and allow ample time for security arrangements. However, the state government overlooked the police's request and decided to proceed with RCB's original plan for the parade on June 4.
Police officers reportedly worked until the early hours of June 4, managing the crowd that gathered to celebrate RCB's first IPL victory. Considering the exhausting shifts, officers claimed it would be challenging to redeploy personnel for another high-pressure event the next morning.
