Former BJP MP and current candidate for the Kalkaji seat, Ramesh Bidhuri, has issued an apology for his controversial comment about Priyanka Gandhi. In a post on X, he clarified that some people are using his statements out of context for political gain on social media. He emphasized that he did not intend to insult anyone, and he expresses his regret if his words caused harm.
In a recent BJP event in the Kalkaji area, Ramesh Bidhuri remarked that the streets of Kalkaji will be made as smooth as Priyanka Gandhi's cheeks. This comment stirred political controversy, with the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party criticizing his words.
Delhi's Chief Minister, Atishi, responded to Bidhuri's statement, labeling BJP as an anti-women party. She expressed concern over the law and order situation under the BJP government in Delhi. She questioned how BJP can ensure women's safety when leaders like Ramesh Bidhuri make such inappropriate remarks. She asserted that voters in Delhi, not just in Kalkaji, will respond robustly to his comments.
Earlier, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate accused BJP of being anti-women. She remarked that Ramesh Bidhuri's comments about Priyanka Gandhi Vadra display his mindset and reflect the character of the BJP.
