The heart-wrenching inferno at a gaming zone in Rajkot, Gujarat has been confirmed to have claimed 27 lives. The blaze was so intense that identifying the victims was near impossible, prompting comprehensive DNA testing. Following receipt of 27 DNA reports, 26 bodies have so far been returned to their grieving families. With each new report, the veil of mourning descends ever deeper upon the families.

Included among the deceased were Vivek Ashokbhai Dushara, his bride of two months Khushali Vivek Dushara, and Khushali's sister Tisha Modasia. Khushali had been visiting her parents in Rajkot, where Vivek had come to collect her and finalize their marriage certificate. Instead of a joyous reunion, their family received death certificates in a tragic twist of fate.
