Today, the streets of Bijaynagar in Beawar district and the city of Bhilwara in Rajasthan lay silent. A shutdown was called by the unified Hindu community in protest against the alarming rise in incidents where young girls are deceitfully ensnared in romantic traps, blackmailed, brutally gang raped, and pressurized for religious conversion. This strike had a profound impact on the usual hustle and bustle; markets were deserted, shops shuttered down, and even major industries saw halts in work for half the day following Bharat Industries' decision.
Recognizing the intensity of the shutdown, District Collector Jasmeet Singh Sandhu appointed executive magistrates to various city areas, while Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh Yadav ensured peace and order by deploying police contingents across prominent locations.
This city-wide bandh was a result of unspeakable acts in Bijaynagar, where underage girls were lured, exploited, and similar appalling incidents in the police precinct areas of Kotwali and Pratapnagar in Bhilwara. The call for a shutdown was made by the consolidated Hindu and Santan societies as a message of solidarity.
Supporters of the shutdown, organized in massive numbers, paraded through the city streets. At Sri Guest House intersection, large gatherings were organized, culminating in a grand rally at Shaheed Chowk, where they were addressed by prominent leader, Mahant Hansram, President of the Rajasthan Sant Society and of the Hari Seva Udasin Ashram.
Ganesh Prajapat, the Provincial Co-Chief of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), vehemently stated, "The vile acts of conversion, gangrape, and blackmailing, all in the name of 'Love Jihad' in Ajmer, Bijaynagar, and Bhilwara, have ignited wrath within the Hindu community. In protest, this bandh was organized. We demand a CBI investigation and the harshest possible punishment for the offenders."
The administration has taken comprehensive security measures to prevent any untoward incidents. This protest has become symbolic of the society's unity and outrage, demanding decisive action against such heinous activities.
