Hanuman Beniwal, leader of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party and Nagaur MP, has stepped down from his legislative position. Having been elected for the fourth consecutive term in Khinwsar, Beniwal tendered his resignation to Rajasthan Assembly Speaker, Vasudev Devnani, on Tuesday. Now serving his second term as Nagaur MP, Beniwal remarked that while the assembly will be moderately missed, a synchronized membership of both assembly and parliament is vital, as frequent elections are not the solution. Given that Rajya Sabha-elected individuals can sit in the Lok Sabha, and vice versa, why can't legislators and MPs remain together?
Moreover, Beniwal's resignation triggers a by-election for the Khinwsar seat. He confidently stated that RLP will indeed contest this election, leaving no doubt, though discussions around the 'India alliance' will take place.
In response to Rahul Gandhi's concerns regarding EVMs, Beniwal argued for a return to ballot paper voting due to potential EVM discrepancies. If NEET exams can be leaked, EVMs aren't improbable targets either. The notion of scams and fraud looms large here.
Determined to Abolish 'Agniveer'
On the Agniveer scheme, MP Beniwal firmly stated that the amendments are unacceptable; the scheme must be entirely dismantled. Planning a significant protest march to Delhi, he aims for traditional army recruitment as the youth desire no compromise.
Jyoti Mirdha's Influence Questioned
In rebuttal to Jyoti Mirdha's comments, Beniwal claimed her family never formed a political party, switching allegiances frequently. If she competes solo, she'll struggle to gain more than 5,000 votes, he asserted, having fulfilled ceremonial duties four times, ready to continue fiercely in the by-election.
Without RLP Alliance, Congress would be Zero in Rajasthan...
He further stated that without an alliance with RLP, Congress wouldn't have even opened its account in Rajasthan.
