Chargesheet in the Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case:
When the truth about the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi came to light, everyone was shocked. The Meghalaya Police chargesheet narrates the entire story, unraveling a conspiracy where a wife appears to write the tale of her husband's demise with her own hands.
The chargesheet reveals that Raja Raghuvanshi was the victim of a meticulously planned conspiracy by his wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi. The bloody plot that unfolded during their honeymoon turned out to be scarier and more suspense-filled than any thriller film.
According to the chargesheet, Sonam was the mastermind behind the entire conspiracy. She colluded with her lover Raj Singh Kushwaha and three contract killers – Akash Singh Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauhan, and Anand Kurmi – to orchestrate her husband's murder. This dangerous gang of five plotted for days to ensnare Raja in a fatal trap.
The police revealed that Sonam made three attempts to kill her husband during the honeymoon, but each attempt failed. Plans were made to push Raja into a gorge or attack him in a secluded place in Guwahati and Shillong, but all efforts were thwarted by rain, crowds, and fear.
On May 23, Sonam executed her final plan. The chargesheet details how, under the pretense of taking a selfie, Sonam led Raja towards a cliff near Sohra in Shillong. At her signal, Vishal Singh attacked Raja with a sharp weapon. The first blow was so lethal that Raja bled profusely and screamed in agony.
As Raja writhed in pain, Sonam turned away instead of helping him. She stepped back, giving the murderers a clear chance. Vishal struck again while the other two killers were nearby. Moments later, when Raja's life ebbed away, Sonam returned and asked if he was dead.
Upon confirming Raja's death, Sonam teamed up with the three killers to drag the body and throw it into the gorge. Moreover, she personally escorted the killers to a safe spot and then departed alone. The evidence clearly shows her active role in the murder.
The police chargesheet indicates that this murder was not a spur-of-the-moment plan but a well-thought-out conspiracy that Sonam had been devising since February 2024. She initially tested dramatic ideas to fake her own death, from drowning in a river to burning a corpse on a scooter, all of which failed.
When all these plans were unsuccessful, Sonam and her lover Raj chose the final terrifying path - to eliminate Raja. The honeymoon trip seemed like the perfect opportunity. Raj, who stayed in Indore, guided Sonam at every step via phone, while the killers followed her lead.
The police investigation uncovered that post-murder, Sonam erased crucial evidence from her mobile device. Upon returning to Indore, she enlisted help from her associates Lokendra Tomar, Balla Ahirwar, and Shilom James. These individuals assisted in hiding evidence and providing her refuge. The police are preparing to file a supplementary chargesheet against them.
The 790-page chargesheet includes solid evidence, such as CCTV footage, call details, and records from scooters and hotels. These documents clearly establish that Sonam was not only the mastermind behind the murder but was also present to witness her husband's brutal demise. The Meghalaya Police affirmed this was not just a love triangle but a perilous game stitched together with greed and betrayal.
