At the Hindu conference in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, Mohan Bhagwat, the head of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), shared his thoughts on several vital issues related to society, nation, and family. He highlighted the humble beginnings of the RSS in Nagpur and its widespread reach throughout the country today.
Mohan Bhagwat insisted that individuals should not be assessed based on caste, language, wealth, or social status. He argued that the entire nation belongs to everyone, embodying true social harmony. He stated that the first step towards social unity is eliminating any sense of discrimination from the mind and considering everyone as part of the community.
He urged the Hindu community to foster mutual understanding, support each other in times of crisis, and make an effort to learn about the country's history and ancestors. On family matters, he suggested that family members should gather at least once a week to share a homemade meal and pray together, strengthening both familial and social bonds.Read more: 'Becoming a global teacher is not our ambition; it's the world's need', says RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat
On the topic of environment and development, he stressed the need for balance between the two. He stated that chopping down forests for development or halting development in the name of environmental conservation isn't justifiable. Viewing water conservation and tree planting as individual responsibilities, he urged everyone to adopt these practices.
Addressing the issue of religious conversion, Mohan Bhagwat pinpointed a lack of trust within society as a major cause. He argued that increasing grassroots-level connections can resolve such issues, calling for collective efforts and social interactions.
The gathering in Raipur resonated with Mohan Bhagwat's ideas, rejuvenating the spirit of social harmony, family cohesion, and patriotism among the attendees.
