There are times when the power of saying 'no' truly outweighs that of saying 'yes'. Malaysian actress and former beauty queen, Amy Nur Tinie, exemplifies this notion.

'In exchange for becoming his third wife, the gentleman offered me a bungalow, a car, 10 acres (40,000 square meters) of land, and a monthly allowance of 50,000 ringgits (approximately 11 lakh rupees),' she disclosed.

This was not a run-of-the-mill offer. In 2019, when Amy was 23 and actively participating in beauty pageants, this proposal allegedly came from a 'Datuk'—a title of honor in Malaysia.

Amy and her mother stood firm in their response. Recalling the moment, Amy noted, 'My mother's response was firm. She was not going to sell me off.' Despite the enticing benefits, Amy made it clear that wealth alone was not enough to sway her.

She stated, 'Having a wealthy partner would be a bonus, not a priority.' However, she also acknowledged that physical attraction matters. With laughter she added, 'If he looks like Iron Man, I'm in; but if he resembles a grandfather, no thank you.'
