Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who recently hoisted the victory banner in both Wayanad and Rae Bareli in the Lok Sabha elections, is now the subject of speculation as to which seat he will vacate. Amidst these rumors, Kerala Congress President K. Sudhakaran signalled that Gandhi might give up his Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. Gandhi organized a rally in Wayanad to express gratitude to his supporters. At the same event, Sudhakaran hinted at the MP's potential departure from the constituency,
Sudhakaran stated we shouldn't despair as Rahul Gandhi, destined to lead the nation, should not be burdened with the expectation to remain in Wayanad. He urged everyone to understand and extend their best wishes and support to Gandhi.
Amidst speculations of Gandhi's seat vacancy, Congress workers in Wayanad displayed posters expressing solidarity and appealing, "Please don't leave us, Rahulji, but if you must, ask your sister Priyanka Gandhi to care for us."

In Malappuram, Kerala, Gandhi expressed his dilemma in choosing between the two seats and assured that both constituencies would be pleased with his decision. Addressing a rally in Malappuram, he thanked the voters of Wayanad and said, "I look forward to meeting you soon."
Gandhi shared his quandary: to be the MP of Wayanad or Rae Bareli. He promised, "Wayanad and Rae Bareli will both be happy with my decision." He also took aim at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that Modi’s 'divine guidance' directs all decisions in favor of industrialists like Ambani and Adani, while Gandhi said, "The poor people of India are my gods, the people of Wayanad are my gods. Thus, it is easy for me. I simply converse with the people, and my gods guide me in what to do."
The Congress leader stated that the battle of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections is for the protection of India's Constitution, and in that fight, love and humility have triumphed over hate. Gandhi also suggested that PM Modi must now alter his attitude since the Indian public has given him a clear message.
