Russian President Vladimir Putin, on Thursday, urged the exploration of alternatives to pornographic content, emphasizing the need to develop something more 'interesting and passionate' to capture people’s attention.

In an interview with Russia Today, Putin acknowledged the global popularity of adult content. He stressed that the issue extends beyond Russia and impacts the entire world.

'Porn Sites Are a Global Issue'

Putin mentioned, 'Porn sites are accessed worldwide. This issue affects everyone, not just us.' While admitting that banning such content could be an approach, the Russian President argued for the need to provide alternatives that are more engaging than adult content.

He said, 'Restrictions can be imposed, but you must always present alternatives—something more attractive and intriguing than porn websites, something that sparks greater interest.' Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin drew attention with his unusual suggestions, citing the country’s declining birth rate.

Russia Promoting Reproductive Rates

Reports suggest that Putin advised Russians to engage in sexual activities during work lunch and coffee breaks to elevate the nation's birth rate. His remarks arose amidst concerns that Russia's fertility rate, currently about 1.5 children per woman, significantly trails the 2.1 required for population stability.

The Kremlin has launched various initiatives to address this issue, including offering free reproductive health assessments for women aged 18 to 40 in Moscow, aimed at evaluating their reproductive health.
