Punjab Police Nab Smuggler with 2 kg of Heroin in Amritsar

The Punjab Police announced on Monday that a man was arrested in Amritsar with two kilograms of heroin, commencing legal action against the suspect. The Director General of Punjab Police, Gaurav Yadav, revealed that, besides heroin, 900 grams of ICE (methamphetamine) were seized from the accused, TamanDeep Singh.

Further Probes May Reveal Significant Findings

Yadav posted on social media platform X that the rural Amritsar police detained TamanDeep Singh from Kakkar village, with 2 kilos of heroin and 900 grams of ICE (crystal meth) were found in his possession. Investigations are underway to uncover others entwined in the smuggling network. The interrogation of the suspect might yield further significant revelations.

According to the DGP, another individual was caught on Sunday with an equivalent heroin stash after a brief encounter in Fazilka District. A pistol, four cartridges, two empty shells, and a motorcycle were retrieved from those arrested in both cases. Notably, Punjab Police had earlier arrested another smuggler recently.
