Upset with the Punjab government's unfulfilled promise of providing 1000 rupees to women each month, former Bathinda councilor Vijay Kumar took to the streets in a distinctive protest. Draped in counterfeit notes of 500, 200, and 100 rupees, he expressed his dissent. Moreover, Kumar distributed fake notes to passing women, symbolizing the unkept promises.

Vijay Kumar contends that the Punjab government assured women monthly assistance of 1000 rupees. However, even after three years, this pledge remains unrealized. Kumar mockingly remarked that just as the government made false promises to the people, he is demonstrating his protest by handing out fake notes.
