The case of Unnao rape convict and former legislator Kuldeep Senger being granted bail is escalating. The victim has expressed her intention to file a petition in the Supreme Court against the Delhi High Court's decision. This matter has already been challenged in the Supreme Court, and public outrage is beginning to show on the streets.
On Friday, a large number of women took to the streets to protest against the bail granted to Kuldeep Senger. They gathered under the banner of the Democratic Women's Committee outside the Delhi High Court, demonstrating vigorously. The women chanted slogans demanding the death penalty for Kuldeep Senger, shouting 'We Want Justice' and 'Hang him' outside the court.
The rape victim from Unnao also joined the protest organized by the Democratic Women's Committee, although she remained seated inside the bus for security reasons. The Delhi High Court had earlier suspended the sentence of Kuldeep Senger, allowing him bail, which has led to widespread discontent.
In light of this, the victim, expressing disappointment with the Delhi High Court's ruling, said the judge delivered the verdict while standing, without elaboration. She had attempted to protest at India Gate but was removed by the police.
The victim reiterated her intention to challenge Senger's bail in the Supreme Court, emphasizing their resolve not to remain silent in this matter. The CBI has also indicated their intention to contest Senger's bail. Supreme Court lawyers Anjale Patel and Pooja have challenged the decision in the Supreme Court, despite not being directly involved in the case.
