On Friday, BJP activists staged a protest outside the Congress office in Patna over derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a joint rally by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Congress. A clash broke out between BJP and Congress workers during this time. In a show of dissent against the disrespectful comments made towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP workers stormed the Congress office.

Congress leaders alleged in a discussion with Aaj Tak that BJP workers broke the gate of the Congress office to enter and unleashed lathi attacks. Vehicles inside the compound were vandalized, and stones were hurled. Some Congress members sustained injuries, with one person's head getting injured. BJP leaders reportedly marched to Sadakat Ashram, chanting slogans against Rahul Gandhi and other 'India' coalition leaders.

During this protest, BJP workers vandalized 'Sadakat Ashram', the state headquarters of Congress in Patna. Forcefully opening the Congress office gate, they entered inside. Congress workers resisted, turning the situation into a baton charge from both sides. Both parties hurled bricks and stones at each other.

To control the situation, Patna Police had to use minimal force, evacuating BJP and Congress activists from the scene to restore order. The chaos followed derogatory comments made on Wednesday (August 27) during Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav's voter rights rally in Darbhanga, aimed at Prime Minister Modi and his mother. This incident was captured on video, which went viral on social media.

Both parties charged each other with inciting violence. BJP activists claimed to Aaj Tak that they were staging a peaceful protest in front of the Congress office in Patna when they were allegedly attacked with stones by Congress workers from inside the office. Meanwhile, Congress accused BJP members of attacking from outside, breaking the gate, and forcibly entering. They alleged that BJP workers vandalized vehicles inside the office and attacked Congress workers with lathis, leading to injuries among some Congress members.

Arrest made over derogatory remarks against the PM

A suspect accused of using derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during an RJD and Congress event has been arrested by Bihar Police. Identified as Rizvi alias Raja, the accused hails from Darbhanga. The sharp criticism was voiced by Union Home Minister Amit Shah against Congress and RJD regarding this incident, who stated on the social media platform X, 'The kind of disrespectful language used for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother from the Congress and RJD stage in Bihar’s Darbhanga is not only condemnable but also stains our democracy.'

He further stated, 'Under Rahul Gandhi's leadership, Congress politics has plummeted to its lowest. They cannot tolerate how the son of a poor mother has been serving as the Prime Minister for the past 11 years, continuously advancing the nation under his leadership. It clearly shows that the Congress party has reverted to its ways of poisoning the political culture of the country. From the time of Modi Ji's leadership in Gujarat until now, the Gandhi family has left no stone unturned to spread hatred against him. However, they have now crossed all boundaries of decorum. It's an insult to every mother and every son, for which 1.4 billion countrymen will never forgive them.'
