Professor Ram Gopal Yadav Slams Reels Creators in Parliament Over Inappropriate Clothing

Samajwadi Party MP Professor Ram Gopal Yadav raised the issue of Instagram Reels during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Professor Ram Gopal Yadav, who was furious with Reels creators, said that people wear clothes that make it difficult to look at them directly. He mentioned that when nudity and alcoholism increase in any society, several civilizations get destroyed. Professor Yadav urged the government to take steps to prevent this and recalled the slogan of protecting Indian culture and civilization since the time of Jan Sangh.

He reminisced that in our times, English was taught from the sixth grade. When a child learned a bit, they were told - '... character is lost, everything is lost'. Professor Ram Gopal Yadav commented that nowadays, some platforms are promoting obscenity. He specifically mentioned Instagram Reels. The Samajwadi Party MP said that according to estimates, our youth spend an average of three hours daily watching Reels, obscene serials, and objectionable programs on Instagram.

Professor Yadav highlighted that the affection that stems from sitting together and eating together in the family is lost today. While people sit together, they remain engrossed in their phones. He mentioned that almost every day, we come across news that friendships formed on Instagram lead to marriages, and later, the boy ends up killing the girl. Such incidents are happening. Professor Yadav also talked about online classes and demanded government action on Instagram Reels and platforms promoting nudity and alcoholism in society.

Meanwhile, NCP MP Fawzia Khan from Maharashtra raised the issue of the effects of online gaming addiction on children. She mentioned a child's suicide in Pune and demanded regulation regarding this.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party MP Vikramjit Singh Sahni also raised the issue of spreading hatred through social media.

In the Rajya Sabha, Aam Aadmi Party MP said there is no control over social media. He mentioned that anything can be written about anyone on social media, including our Honorable Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition. Vikramjit said that recently something was written about a senior army officer, which we cannot even speak in the House.

He emphasized that this is creating tension in society. Such accounts should be closed. Vikramjit Singh mentioned that freedom of expression is important, but liberty is necessary too. He said that we had also introduced a private members' bill in the House regarding this. Laws should be made in this regard.
