President Droupadi Murmu addressed the nation on the eve of Independence Day, paying tribute to the freedom fighters. She highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's efforts in uniting the country. During her address, the President referenced the sacrifices made by freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, and Sukhdev.

The President declared that the nation will achieve complete glory. She expressed, "It brings me immense joy to see everyone preparing to celebrate the 78th Independence Day. Watching the tricolor flag waving, whether at the Red Fort, state capitals, or in our surroundings, fills our hearts with pride."

'Nation Observes Partition Horrors Remembrance Day'

President Murmu pointed out, "Today, August 14th, our country observes Partition Horrors Remembrance Day. It is a day to remember the horrors of partition. When our great nation was divided, millions were forced to flee, and countless lives were lost. On the eve of Independence Day, we remember this unprecedented human tragedy and stand united with the families that were torn apart."

Mentioned Free Food Ration for 800 Million People

President Droupadi Murmu stated that just as we celebrate various festivals with our families, we also celebrate Independence Day and Republic Day with the entire nation. We are part of a tradition that connects the dreams of freedom fighters with the aspirations of future generations, who will see our nation regain its full glory in the coming years.

The President highlighted that with an average annual growth rate of 8% from 2021 to 2024, India is among the fastest-growing major economies. This has not only put more money into the hands of its citizens but also significantly reduced the number of people living below the poverty line. Efforts are being made to assist and uplift those still suffering from poverty.

President Murmu also noted that several government schemes have uplifted economically weaker sections and provided free rations and facilities to 800 million people. She emphasized the government's initiatives to empower women and the ongoing work towards expanding 'Nari Shakti' (women's power) across the country.
