Aligarh Gripped by Tension after Mob Lynching, Security Forces Deployed for Calm.

The recent mob lynching in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh stemming from theft suspicions led to a startling postmortem revelation. The report indicated the victim sustained injuries at 22 locations, including three broken ribs, lung damage, and a fatal blood clot in the head.

Currently, six suspects have been apprehended in the case, with another seven identified from the mob. Considering the tension in the area, a significant police force has been deployed to maintain peace. Senior officers are overseeing the situation, especially with the coming Friday prayers in mind.

The incident took place in the Mamu Bhanja area of Aligarh this past Tuesday, escalating communal tensions. The streets were flooded with agitated citizens; however, the police were successful in preventing further disturbances.

Area turned into a Fortress

Following Aurangzeb's (Farid) death, tensions have risen in parts of Aligarh. To keep the situation under control, Section 144 has been imposed. Additional police forces, along with magistrates and officers, are on duty to ensure safety during Friday prayers. Battalions from the PAC and RAF have also been stationed, and patrolling has increased in sensitive areas.

An Aligarh police officer reported that a person from a different community was assaulted based on suspicion of theft. The police had rushed him to the hospital where he was declared dead. The force has been on alert since Tuesday night, ensuring no further unfortunate events take place.

In response to the incident, six individuals have been arrested based on a filed case. After the postmortem, the body was interred. Although there were protests, the demonstrators were appeased. Tensions did escalate in the city, but now the situation has normalized. Vigilant monitoring continues with ongoing communication between the involved parties.
