Post-Delhi Coaching Incident, Crackdown on Illegal Coaching Centers Extends to MP, Rajasthan, and UP

Following the coaching incident in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, the governments of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan have heightened their alertness regarding security measures in student areas. The administration in Kota, often called the coaching hub of Rajasthan, has become vigilant. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh has also directed the enhancement of security arrangements in coaching areas. Likewise, Chief Minister Yogi has issued stringent directives. On Monday, authorities ordered the closure of 13 libraries functioning in Kota's basement. Library owners were warned that non-compliance would lead to the sealing of these libraries.

Directives from Yogi Government

Nitin Gokarn, the Principal Secretary of UP, has issued directives to all development authorities to curb illegal activities in basements. Additionally, there is a prohibition on excavation in basements during the rainy season. The administration was instructed that excavation should proceed only after ensuring complete safety measures. The government's directive also mentions that accountability will be fixed on the concerned officers if any accident occurs.

Strict Measures in Kota

On Monday, joint action was taken by the fire team of Kota North/South Municipal Corporation at the District Center, Landmark City, Coral Park, and Rajiv Gandhi Nagar. Libraries operating in basements were inspected, and immediate closure was ordered. Warnings were also issued that future irregularities would result in sealing these premises.

Stringent Action by Madhya Pradesh Government

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh has directed the administration to inspect coaching institutions operating in basements and ensure their safety. On Monday, CM Mohan Yadav conducted a review meeting regarding this issue. He instructed officials to check for waterlogging and ensure proper drainage and safe electrical systems in basement coaching centers.

Principal Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajora stated that directives were issued to 16 municipal commissioners to inspect coaching institutions, dharamshalas, and other organizations operating in basements within their jurisdiction and submit a report to the state government.

Indore District Administration on High Alert

In Indore, essential security measures and basic facilities will be ensured for coaching classes, libraries, and other institutions operating in basements and large buildings. Joint teams will be formed. It is noteworthy that three students lost their lives due to drowning in a library running in the basement of a coaching institute in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi. Following this, illegal coaching centers in Delhi are being sealed.
