Amid a flurry of legal debates, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh has been released from Tihar Jail. The homecoming of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal unfolded into a pivotal hearing in the Delhi High Court today. Both the ED's and Kejriwal's lawyers presented forceful arguments in their defense.

During the proceedings, Kejriwal's representative cited the arrest as a 'scripted' move, countered by the ED's lawyer who introduced the case in the context of 'murder' and 'terrorism'.

A critical debate ensued over a petition challenging Kejriwal's arrest, with Advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi questioning, "Why the arrest amidst elections? AAP seems to be unfairly targeted, with old scandals being misused to skew the political field. The first summon by ED was in October, yet the arrest took place in March."

The ED retorted to Singhvi's arguments, suggesting serious implications of delays in tackling crimes by influential political figures. "Imagine if a political figure commits murder two days before an election - is he not to be arrested? If we freeze properties close to elections, it's construed as obstruction, but if not, we're questioned on the effectiveness. Misdeeds don't vanish just because no direct recovery from the accused's residence is made."

The lengthy five-hour debate culminated without a conclusion, with Justice Swarnakanta Sharma deciding to reserve the judgement.

Kejriwal's team stressed the lack of evidence against him, which was promptly challenged by the ED, "The argument 'nothing was found on my premises' is absurd. If illicit gains are spent, transferred abroad, or otherwise disposed of, they won't be found at home - but does this imply innocence? Can a murder case not proceed just because a body isn't found?"

Serious concerns voiced by AAP over Kejriwal's wellbeing

Post his arrest on March 21 from his Delhi residence, Kejriwal spent time in ED custody before being moved to Tihar Jail. AAP raises three concerns: 1- Kejriwal's sudden weight loss of 4.5kg in 12 days. 2- A sharp decline in blood sugar levels. 3 - Severe blood sugar fluctuations alongside weight loss warrant concern and careful monitoring. 4- It is feared that BJP might resort to drastic measures.

Tihar administration responds to AAP leaders' allegations

The narrative of Kejriwal's health woes within Tihar Jail surfaces amidst his battle against corruption. AAP portrays the CM's weight loss as vindictive, but the Tihar administration assures regular health check-ups show normal results. Blood pressure and random blood sugar have remained stable over the past three days, contradicting the allegations of a dramatic weight loss during ED custody.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) insinuates political ploy behind 'physical weight loss'

The BJP suggests a conspiracy behind Kejriwal's alleged weight loss, insinuating it's a political gambit under the guise of health concerns.

Kejriwal granted home-cooked meals at Tihar Jail

A noteworthy fact is that Kejriwal has been permitted home-cooked meals in Tihar Jail. He's been provided with requested books, furniture, medications, and even an electric kettle for his comfort, affirming that his needs are being met within the legal framework.
