The countdown to the first phase of Lok Sabha elections has begun. In just four days, on April 19, voting will take place across 102 seats spanning 21 states and union territories.

Of these 102 seats, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) triumphed in 40 during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) followed with 24 wins, and Congress had to settle for 15 seats. It will be interesting to see which party clinches how many seats this time around as six more voting phases are to come.

In the run-up to the first round of voting, political maneuvering has intensified. Both the BJP and Congress have released their election manifestos. Amidst this, the spate of attacks on each other by party leaders continues. Let's give you a lowdown on the major political shuffles happening across the country today, Monday (April 15).
