Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM founder Shibu Soren passed away on Monday morning. He took his last breath at the age of 81 at the Gangaram Hospital in Delhi. Revered as 'Dishom Guru', Shibu Soren was a prominent tribal leader both in Jharkhand and across the nation.
PM Modi's Final Respects
Confirming his father's demise, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren expressed his sorrow, writing, 'Respected Dishom Guruji has left us all. Today, I feel truly empty.' Political figures across the spectrum, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, shared their condolences. PM Modi visited the Gangaram Hospital in Delhi to pay his final respects to Shibu Soren's mortal remains.
Photographs from the hospital show PM Modi offering solace to an emotional Hemant Soren. With folded hands, Hemant stands beside the Prime Minister, who gently places a hand on his shoulder, offering comfort. In another poignant image, Hemant's wife, Kalpana Soren, is also present.

Rahul Gandhi Expresses Sorrow
Continuing, PM Modi conveyed, 'The news of Shibu Soren's passing deeply saddens me. My thoughts are with his family and beloved ones. I expressed my condolences to Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren.' Moreover, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his sympathies, stating, 'Hearing the news of Shibu Soren Ji's demise, an eminent figure and voice for the tribal community, is profoundly saddening. His relentless fight for their rights and his integral role in Jharkhand's formation will always be remembered. My deepest condolences to Hemant Soren Ji, the entire Soren family, and all of Guruji’s followers.'

JMM leader Shibu Soren's last rites will take place on Tuesday in Ranchi, with Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi attending. JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya told PTI that Guruji’s body will be brought to Ranchi Monday evening, and on Tuesday morning, it will be moved to his ancestral village Nemra in Ramgarh district, for the final rites.
