Former Jharkhand Chief Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) founder Shibu Soren passed away today at 8:56 AM at Delhi's Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. He had been suffering from kidney-related ailments and was on life support for the past month. About a month and a half ago, he also suffered a stroke.
His passing was confirmed by Jharkhand Chief Minister and his son, Hemant Soren. In an emotional message, Hemant wrote, 'Respectful Dishom Guruji has left us all. Today, I feel void...'
PM Modi Pays Tribute
PM Modi paid homage to Shibu Soren through a tweet, 'Shibu Soren was a grassroots leader, consistently dedicated to public service. Especially committed to empowering tribal communities, the poor, and disadvantaged, I am deeply saddened by his demise. My sympathies go out to his family and admirers. I have expressed condolences to Jharkhand’s CM Hemant Soren.'

Lalu Yadav Recounts His Connection
RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav also paid tribute in Patna, stating, 'He was a great leader of Dalits and tribals. We had a close relationship. We pay our respects.'
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh expressed sorrow, stating, 'Shibu Soren was counted among Jharkhand’s towering leaders who fought lifelong for the rights and empowerment of the weaker sections, particularly tribal societies. He was always connected to the ground and the people. I, too, had a long acquaintance with him. His demise deeply saddens me. My sentiments are with his family and followers.'
Pramod Tiwari Offers Homage
Similarly, Congress MP Pramod Tiwari honored Shibu Soren, saying, 'Shibu Soren was the most resonant voice, identity, and tallest honor for the tribals. He consistently championed the cause of the poor, laborers, especially the tribals. I don't think there's a more significant tribal figure. I pay my respects.'

Sanjay Raut Remembers Soren
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut remarked, 'We will always remember Shibu Soren. Coming from a tribal state, his space in national politics is remarkable. To the people of Jharkhand, he was nothing less than a deity. Shibu Soren was a Rajya Sabha member, and his seat was right next to mine. I frequently inquired about his health from his party members. Two days ago, I was told his condition was worsening, and today he passed. Uddhav Thackeray and the entire family offer their condolences to him.'
