1200 Engines to be Made at Rail Factory
The rail factory in Dahod is expected to produce approximately 1,200 engines over the next decade. Based on a PPP model, the project aims to generate around 10,000 jobs in Dahod and its vicinity. These engines will feature the "Made in Dahod" mark and are planned for both domestic use and export.
Following the engagements in Dahod, the Prime Minister will address another rally in Bhuj, Kutch, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects related to Kandla Port, Power Grid, and Jetco, costing over ₹40,000 crore. Afterwards, he plans to visit the revered temple of Maa Ashapura.
The 9000 HP, 6-axle electric engines designed by the railway will average a speed of 75 km/h. These engines will be maintained at depots in Kharagpur (West Bengal), Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), and Pune (Maharashtra). The project provides opportunities for both international firms and local engineering companies to partake in supply contributions.
