Delhi Airport Advisory During Fierce Storms and Rain
Following the severe weather, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI Airport) issued an advisory for potential disruptions. They advised travelers to check flight statuses via phone, SMS, or the airline's website and recommended early arrivals at the airport and contingency travel plans if possible.
Impact on Delhi Metro Services
The sudden hooded conditions disrupted Delhi Metro (DMRC) services. Overhead Electric Lines (OHE) were damaged, potentially due to external objects on the tracks, affecting services on some routes, including near Shahid Nagar, Jahangirpuri, and Nizamuddin stations.
DMRC is managing these incidents with teams on-site to clear tracks and restore OHE lines, urging passengers to check updates through official social media channels and plan alternate routes.
