AIIMS, IIT-IIM, and Cancer Hospitals: PM Modi's Vision for Transforming Kashmir into a Smart City

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Kashmiri citizens today in Srinagar. 'The feeling of visiting heaven on earth is incomparable. We have longed for this new Jammu-Kashmir for decades,' he said during his address. PM Modi declared plans to bestow 2 AIIMS on Jammu-Kashmir and also spoke of developing a Smart City initiative in the region. He stated that in the next five years, Jammu-Kashmir will progress even more rapidly.

Before addressing the crowd at Bakshi Stadium, PM Modi conversed with young entrepreneurs of Jammu-Kashmir. He talked with a youth running a honey business, and a young woman who operates a bakery. Before his stadium address, PM Modi unveiled developmental projects worth 6400 crores rupees.

With Freer Breaths in Kashmir: PM Modi

Picking up where Article 370 left off, PM Modi emphasized that this is the first time that Kashmir breathes freely in an open, liberated atmosphere. He mentioned the inclusion of Kashmiri youth in the government's primary agenda and stated that the government is ready to implement schemes that Kashmir has yet to experience. The promise of 2 AIIMS for Jammu-Kashmir and plans for a Smart City were reiterated, with an expectation of accelerated development in the next five years.

Major Cancer Hospitals, 7 Medical Colleges Launched

In the rally, PM Modi touched upon several initiatives related to tourism and development. These projects are expected to broadcast the story of Kashmir's development worldwide. He mentioned that alongside AMIMS, seven medical colleges and major cancer hospitals have been established, as well as modern educational institutes like IIT and IIM.

Kashmir Welcomes Two Vande Bharat Trains

Two Vande Bharat train services have commenced for Kashmir. Train services have started from Srinagar to Sangaldan and from Sangaldan to Baramulla. The expansion of connectivity has quickened economic activities in the region. Infrastructure projects are in the works for transforming Jammu and Kashmir into smart cities.

Launch of 5,000 Crore Rupee Development Plans

PM Modi joined the 'Developed India, Developed Jammu-Kashmir' program at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, inaugurating schemes worth approximately 5,000 crore rupees intended to boost the agricultural economy of the Union Territory. This includes nationwide tourism-related projects under the 'Swadesh Darshan' and 'PRASHAD' (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) schemes, which involves a project for integrated development as well.

The PM also launched 'Dekho Apna Desh People's Choice Tourist Destination Poll' and 'Global Diaspora Challenge India Campaign' under the Challenge Based Destination Development (CBDD) and distributed appointment letters to about 1,000 newly recruited government employees in Jammu-Kashmir. He also held dialogue with beneficiaries of various central schemes, including women, farmers, and entrepreneurs.
