Pintu Mallah from Prayagraj is making headlines. By navigating boats at the grand Kumbh Mela, Pintu amassed a fortune running into crores. Even CM Yogi took notice of his feat during an assembly session. In a conversation with 'Aaj Tak,' Pintu opened up emotionally about his success story, emphasizing that achieving this wasn't effortless; it required months of diligent effort.
It's noteworthy that Pintu Mallah resides in Naini's Arail. With approximately 100 family members, preparations for the grand Kumbh Mela started months prior. Together, the family constructed 130 boats, allowing them to earn abundantly during the festival.

To achieve this, Pintu even pawned his mother's jewelry. Initially, his mother was concerned about the risk of losing money and tried to dissuade him. However, as the Kumbh progressed and earnings skyrocketed, their joy knew no bounds. Now, more than the earnings, the family takes pride in CM Yogi Adityanath mentioning them for their excellent income.
, his family collectively earned about 300 million rupees during the 45-day Kumbh Mela, operating their fleet of 130 boats robustly for substantial financial gains.

Responding to allegations of overcharging devotees, Pintu clarifies they adhered strictly to government-set rates, abstaining from charging extra. While others may have done so, their group did not. Some devotees even chose to make donations willingly.
Remarkably, constructing one boat alone costs around 50 to 60 thousand rupees. Pintu's family claims that they could earn over 50,000 rupees per day from a single boat, amounting to 2.3 million rupees in a month per boat, amassing roughly 300 million from all boats together.
During the Kumbh Mela, the official boat fare was set at 483 rupees per person. However, reports suggest that fares between 2000 and 4000 rupees were charged during peak times. If a 10-seater boat charged 1500 rupees per person, it netted 15,000 rupees per trip, with multiple trips each day.

As Pintu narrates, “Our family, over 100 strong, worked with unparalleled dedication. It's like a divine blessing for us, and we are thankful to Yogi Ji and Modi Ji for organizing such a magnificent event where boatmen were given special attention. Never in our lives had we imagined earning so much.”
Pintu shares that with 70 boats of their own, and every family owning 10 to 20 boats each, significant earnings were achieved. The entire village, or even entire Prayagraj's boatmen, saw stabilized financial conditions. Such wealth was beyond any imagination we had.
